District Lead Volunteer
Matt Jackson
Known previously as District Commissioner, Matt has overall responsibility for the District. It is his role to ensure the Leeds Templars runs effectively and that Scouting develops in accordance with the rules and policies of The Scout Association. He also ensures that the District teams are organised and inspires volunteers to give young people great experiences and skills for life.
Youth Lead
Matthew Plant
Known previously as Youth Commissioner, a Youth Lead is someone between the ages of 18 and 25 that gives young people a voice at a senior level. Matthew is responsible for ensuring that Scouting at Leeds Templars is shaped by young people. He supports our young people, making sure their voices are heard, promotes the YouShape awards and supports volunteers to empower young people and young leaders.
Programme Team Lead
Jeanette Walker
As Programme Team Lead, Jeanette has responsibility for helping every section run a safe, enjoyable and high quality programme. To do this she helps bring section teams together so that young people have a positive impact on the community and earn their top awards.
14-24 Team Lead
Andrew Tate
The 14-24 Team merges all previous Explorer and Network Teams into one cohesive group. Andrew focuses on Explorer and Network programme and events, getting young people their top awards, the Young Leaders scheme and DofE awards.
Volunteering Development Lead
Jas Brereton
Jas make sure that all volunteers in the district have a positive and enjoyable volunteering experience. The team makes it easier for people to join Scouts and Leaders to learn new skills.
Support Team Lead
Catherine Duffy
The Support Team is a new team that merges former SAS roles, communications roles, fundraisers, digital and building managers into one place. This team focuses on giving tools and resources to other Leaders so they can run Scouts smoothly while following the POR.

Scouting roles are changing

Our Board of Trustees
Known previously as the Executive Committee, the Trustee Board is a team that works together to ensure Scouting at Leeds Templars is safe, legal and properly funded.
Our Programme Team
This team provides support for all of our Scout Groups programmes to help our Young People reach those top awards. They also organise camps, events and anything else programme to support our young people.
Our 14-24 Team
Helping Explorer, Young Leader and Network teams, meet the volunteers that help make Scouting possible for 14-24 year olds. They ensure that Scouting is accessible for all and help create opportunities for young people in their communities.
Our Volunteering Development Team
This team provides support for all our leaders ongoing learning and volunteer experience and also includes welcoming new volunteers.
Our Support Team
The support team provides tools and resources to help Scouts run smoothly. This covers a wide range of jobs that help make Scouting easier for other volunteers. They create and manage relationships with other organisations, plan fundraising, manage properties, digital resources, support administration, joining enquiries and more.
